After an exhaustive 12 month search we are pleased to have set up operations and settling into our new office. The move has been a tremendous effort from staff, who managed it, all the while without breaking our service continuity to renters and clients.
The new site at 96-98 Bank St. South Melbourne, provides improved amenity and opportunity to work more collaboratively across our program teams. It also offers us the opportunity to host Board meetings onsite. And a modest carparking space for holding events such as social meals.
We are particularly grateful to Council on the Aging (COTA) Victoria for a generous donation of second hand furniture and Better Living Group, who we engaged to modify and fit out areas for improved functionality and amenity for staff. Also to Sonja Duric, who provided pro bono support to help design the layout and all our contracted trades who expertly and efficiently worked to get us up and running without delay.
Staff are enjoying the extra space and generous natural light the new office affords. Our location in still conveniently close to public transport and walking distance from many of our properties in South Melbourne.
Last week we also handed back keys to Homes Victoria for the organisation’s South Yarra office. This was Prahran Malvern Community Housing’s home for over 20 years, under the Horace Petty Estate, which is another public housing site undergoing redevelopment.
